Delete your EchoLit account

You can delete your EchoLit account at any time: here, or in the EchoLit app on iPhone or Android under Account. Deleting it removes the account from every device you use EchoLit on.

What is deleted

  • Your account: name, email address and sign-in details
  • Your notes and highlights
  • Your favorites
  • Your reading progress and your place in every book
  • The questions you asked the AI reading assistant, and its answers
  • Our record of your EchoLit Plus subscription

This happens as soon as you delete the account. Books you downloaded to a phone for offline reading stay on that phone until you remove them or uninstall the app.

What is kept

We keep nothing that identifies you. Deleted data ages out of our encrypted database backups within 30 days.

If you paid for EchoLit Plus, the payment records are held by whoever took the payment — Apple, Google, or our payment processor Stripe — under their own obligations to keep them. Deleting your EchoLit account does not cancel a subscription with Apple or Google; cancel it with them first.
